Malaysia to recruit 500,000 Bangladeshi workers this year

file photo
Malaysia is set to recruit 500,000 Bangladeshi workers through private agencies this year.
This was claimed by bdnews24.com, a Bangladeshi news portal, who stated in their report that Malaysia would recruit 500,000 low-skilled workers from Bangladesh under the new business-to-business (B2B) mechanism that engaged manpower agencies this year.
It claimed that Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed the recruitment through private agencies in a meeting with Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain in Putrajaya.

It went on to say that around 600,000 workers from Bangladesh were currently working in Malaysia, one of the biggest labour markets destinations of Bangladesh.
“After a long break, Malaysia resumed import of workforce from Bangladesh for its plantation sector under the G2G mechanism in 2013, but Bangladeshis are not eager to work in the plantation sector.
“The government had set a target to send 50,000 workers every six months at the time, but sent only 7,000 in the past two years, according to the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET),” it stated.
Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain came down Kuala Lumpur with a seven-strong delegation on Tuesday to discuss the matter.
He is also scheduled to meet Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Photos: Inside the home of a man married to a sex doll

Dirk and Jenny aren’t like normal couples. Their sentiments are: to love one another, to support one another and to share a lot of their private time together. The only thing that sets them apart is Jenny is a ‘real doll’ that Dirk bought for 6,000 euros (that’s $6,750).
Dirk and Jenny have a fixed daily schedule. Every evening at 6 pm they are sitting on the sofa watching television

They have been living together in Dirk’s flat for 4 years now, after Dirk suffered a breakdown from feeling lonely. With Neil Young’s Such a Woman playing, they tied the knot in Dirk’s flat, and instead of a wedding ring, he gifted her a heart shaped pendant on a chain.
What sets their relationship apart from that of simply a sex doll is that Dirk has forged a true genuine relationship with Jenny. He can hear her, talk to her and “perceive her soul”, believing she speaks back.
Documenting the couple’s day to day lives, the photographer, Sandra Hoyn, discovered the 40-year-old man bathed Jenny on Sundays, they wrote a blog together and watched football in front of the TV side by side. Dirk, however,  hasn’t told any of his family or friends, including his child from a previous marriage. When he has guests he conceals her in his bedroom and dims the lights.

The photographer’s biggest challenge, was coming to terms with treating Jenny as the person Dirk sees her to be; to not to just see the doll just as a doll, but to “recognize what the man sees and loves in her”. She actually started to feel her presence, and when Jenny was put in bed for a ‘sleep’, actually felt her voice volume lowering, afraid of waking her.
“I can’t live without love. My loneliness destroyed me.”. Dirk says of his silicone doll. Dirk carrying Jenny into the bathroom. He always has to remove the door so that Jenny fits through. “Jenny is such a sensitive being. She is so helpless.”. He said.

Mother and late child pictured
A 26-year-old frustrated mother, Funmilayo Tijani has been arrested by the Ogun state police command for allegedly stabbing her two-year-old son, Emmanuel, to death at her residence on Ogunso Street, Orelope Estate, in the Egan, Sango Ota area of the state on May 27th.
According to a report by Punch, Funmi, who is separated from her son's father and lives with her father, was arrested after Neighbors raised an alarm after she was found with a blood stained knife. Her child was later found dead with stab wounds.

A neighbor, Akeem Ijaola, who resides in the same area with Funmi when the incident happened said Funmi, a fashion designer, narrates what happened
"Funmilayo and her son stayed with her father in a one-room apartment. The boy attended a private school in this area. About 4pm on the fateful day, we noticed that something was going wrong in the apartment. When people went near, they saw the boy in a pool of blood. He had been stabbed many times. Funmilayo at that time looked like a mentally-derailed woman. The boy died before anyone could take him to a hospital. Although no one could ascertain the cause of her action, Funmilayo is divorced, and the child was born out of wedlock about three years ago.”
Another neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Funmilayo might have committed the act out of frustration as she was financially and emotionally unstable.
“She tried to borrow money during that week from her boss, but she failed. There are also arguments whether her husband was the father of the boy or her father, who she stayed with. Also, her former husband, John, has married another wife who gave birth a few weeks to the incident. I think all these contributed to Funmilayo’s emotional breakdown.”
Speaking on the incident, Funmi's father, 53 year old Mr Adebayo from Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, said
“Funmilayo’s mother died about 20 years ago. She grew up staying with me. I married a second wife later, but separated from her years ago. Funmilayo had been staying with me since she separated from her husband. John initially refused to accept her pregnancy. But they went for a DNA test, which confirmed him as being responsible for the pregnancy. Thereafter, he took her to a place in Apapa, and they were planning to travel to his hometown in Delta State,. but I refused and asked her to come back home.”he said
The Ogun state police spokesperson DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident and said Funmi has been acting very strange since she was arrested.
“The police were at the scene to recover the body of the child. The woman has been acting strangely like someone with an unsound mind. She has been arrested and investigation is ongoing.”
The child's body is said to be in the morgue.

Funke Akindele Might Not Have A Child In Life - Popular Prophet

There has been a sounding warning to popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele from the founder of Mountain of Blessing and Miracle Church of Christ, Prophet Dr. Olagorioye Faleyimu.

The popular Lagos based pastor, clearly cautioned that the divorced actress should pray against bareness in her life.

His words, “Funke Akindele needs to pray hard so as to have a child before she go back to her creator. She will be reeling in blessing and all good things off life. If care is not taken, she won’t have a child before she dies. The entertainment industry in Nigeria should pray that six super stars shall not die this year. They should also be prayerful and rely on God because in finding what they didn’t lose, they may meet their waterloos. The blessing from the devil will keep coming to them but they are going to come with unexpected calamities," he predicted.

Recall that two years ago, the popular prophet predicted a lot of events which has come to pass including the presidential election which made Muhammed Buhari, Nigerian president.

Dead students write exam in Anambra polytechnic

Oko P0lytechnic, OkoThere is confusion at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, following a startling revelation that certain dead students of the institution were graded and awarded marks in recent semester examinations.

A rights group, International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law openedthecan of worms in a petition to the school authorities recently

The petition entitled: “Complaints Against Wrongful Allocation of Results to Deceased Students’: A call for Investigation and Redress, alleged that “one of the deceased students awarded marks in exams he never participated was Late Ezeh Uchenna with registration number FPO/SLT/ND/R1/012/038.

The petition was signed by the Chairman of the group’s Board of Trustees, Mr. Emeka Umeagbalasi.

According to the group, “The said Uchenna was given upper credit (3.05) and awarded 67 in Cell Biology, 81 in Organic Chemistry, 60 in Physical Chemistry, 49 in Electricity and Magnetism, 44 in Optics and Waves, 66 in Analytical Chemistry, 70 in General Lab Techniques, 69 in Computer Packages and so on.

It also alleged that some students who had long left the polytechnic were captured in the last semester examination records of the school,

InterSociety said the purpose of its petition was to ensure that the right things were done, noting that some students who complained about the irregularities and recklessness were being victimised by the school authorities.

“Just two days ago, they were called and invited by the school security authorities to come and defend the letter InterSociety wrote to the school and defend their involvement over same.

“The students also informed InterSociety that their names have been forwarded to the School’s Anti-Cult Brigade to be treated as common criminals and cultists.

“As a matter of fact, they have gone into hiding; operating amorphously to avoid being physically assaulted and held captive. Their state of mind is also psychologically battered leading to mental torture,”InterSociety said.

InterSociety said, “We regard these approaches as very uncalled for, reprehensible, despicable and condemnable.

“The school must not be an outlaw and dangle with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 particularly its Section 35 (personal liberty), 36 (fair hearing) and 39 (freedom of expression).

“Your school must also understand that the engine room of the corporate social responsibilities, which it is a party to; is founded on human rights. Students who complain of certain anomalies through duly constituted processes are not only sticklers of due process, but also entitled to fair hearing and free speech or expression.

“It saddens our heart that till date no reasonable investigation over the students’ complaints has been commenced and concluded by the school authorities.

It further submitted that “As for the referenced Head of Department, who was newly elevated to the academic rank of Deanship, we demand that she should be called to order and compelled to revisit the issue. As we have earlier demanded, no student of the referenced department should be punished or maltreated over the issue.

It noted that“The students’ assertion that the lecturers that handled the referenced courses and exams should be compelled to tender their raw result score sheets for the purpose of verification should be commended and heeded.

In his reaction, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Godwin Onu, said he had constituted a committee to investigate the matter, adding it was the work of bad people working to paint the polytechnic black in the eyes of the public.
